Imperial Beach

Imperial Beach is the southern most beach city in California with beachfront properties. This coastal town has sweeping views of the Coronado Islands and even Mexico. IB consists of approximately 9,600 residences and a population of 27,000. The beach city is connected to Coronado by way of the Silver Strand, a narrow, 7 mile long isthmus, and offers the perfect lifestyle for surfing, swimming, bicycling, walking, fishing, beach volleyball, bird watching and more while catching the perfect sunset. It is also home to the the Surfboard Museum, an outdoor public art project exploring the history of surfing in Imperial Beach.

Just 5 miles from the Mexico border, Imperial Beach is also home to the Tijuana River National Estuary, one of the top birding spots in San Diego with many endangered birds and wildlife on display.

You will also find many regularly scheduled events such as the Friday Certified Farmer’s Market, free fish derbies, triathlons and the annual Sun & Sea Festival featuring sandcastle art, and host to the annual Surf Dog Competition.
